Medical information is one of the most private issues that most people have. Imagine that young people if they are relatively healthy never even consider these issues. Their parents pay for their health insurance and they may or may not have to work for a living until after graduating from college.
As we get older, however, health becomes an issue in many areas of life. Pre-existing conditions, past ailments or chronic health issues can be a barrier to employment, job promotions, the ability to enjoy certain types of entertainment activities or to qualify for affordable insurance. For someone with a medical condition that is not visible to the nake eye, keeping this condition confidential is an imporant reality for them.
