Central route and peripheral processing

The elaboration likelihood model of persuasion echoes the heuristic-systematic model of attitude processing by providing two paths to attitude change or formation. The central route of processing needs humans to use active and deliberate thought, while the peripheral route of processing take place via non-deliberate processing not limited to, however inclusive of, heuristics. A central tenet of this model is that humans are motivated to hold correct attitudes and, as a result, there can be a number of factors which influence which processing route a person might take.

Give two illustrations of images or messages related with processing routes and rate them based on how persuasive you found each message (1, least persuasive, to 5, most persuasive).

Explain two factors which might affect central route processing and two factors which might affect peripheral route processing, and describe how. Be specific and use illustrations to describe your points.
