Carbohydrates
The carbohydrates are naturally taking place organic molecules. They exist in both of the animals and plants.
"Carbohydrates are ddescribed as a class of compounds that involve polyhydric aldehydes or polyhydric ketones and large polymeric compounds which can be broken down (hydrolysed) into polyhydric aldehydes or ketones."
Carbohydrates consist of >C=O and -OH groups. A carbonyl compound reacts along with an alcohol to make hemiacetal.
The name of very simple carbohydrates end is -ose. Carbohydrate along with an aldehydic structure are termed as aldoses and those along with ketonic structure as ketoses. The amount of carbon molecules in the substance is displayed by Greek prefix.
