Candidate chosen to be president instead of deaf candidate

Question: The Deaf President Now protest happened at Gallaudet University when a hearing candidate was chosen to be the president instead of a Deaf candidate. This caused protest from both students and staff who believed the school for the Deaf should have a Deaf president. They made four demands during protest, all of which were met. The demands were that the hearing candidate resign and a new deaf candidate be selected, the chair of the Board of Trustees to resign, have a 51% majority of deaf members on the Board of Trustees, and no reprisals against students or staff who were involved in the protest. This event showed that Deaf individuals are capable of leading and running institutions and being in positions of power.  Do you agree? Be very brief. Need Assignment Help?
