In chapter, you will learn about the origins of two ways of knowing and understanding the world in which we live. One is a secular, rational, and pre-scientific way (Legalism, Confucian, Buddhist, and Greek) and the other is based on a faith-based view of the universe (Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Zoroastrian). What in your opinion are the strengths and weaknesses of both of these approaches? You may already find yourself within one of these two camps or you may still be considering your options as you develop your own world view. So here is the prompt: Which of these two ways of knowing seems most beneficial to the development of humankind? You do not have to pick a specific world view here, but I do want you to consider how the secular vs. the religious world views have complimented each other or created conflict throughout history. Can the world exist by embracing both world views or is that even possible?
