1. Can scheduling systems deal with variable shop times, breakdown of equipment, changing requirements, and other uncertainties, or do the schedules become unmanageable?
2. If inventory is so difficult to manage, why don't firms have their suppliers manage the inventory and accept deliveries only on a Just-in-Time basis?
