Amara purchased a suburban home. At the time of the sale, the real estate agent pointed to a decorative stone fence as the boundary of the property. Amara had several dogs she wanted to keep on her property so she erected a chain link fence along what she believed to be her property line. Her neighbor watched the work being done and did not object. Twenty years later, as the result of a new survey by the town, Amara was surprised to learn that the fence was 18 inches inside the neighbor's property.
