Calculating the value of snr

Assignment:

A diversity scheme used in a receiver consists of two single branches. The following is received from each branch: The first row shows the voltage samples received from the first branch and the second row shows the voltage samples received from the second branch. Each column corresponds to a particular instant in time. Consider that the average noise power in each branch is equal to 0.25 W and assume that the above values have been co-phased for use in both maximum ratio and equal gain combining. The instantaneous voltage gains provided by an attcnuator for branch 1 and branch 2 are G1 = 1.2 and G2 = 1.4 respectively. Also with feedback diversity assume that the threshold has been set to an SNR of 5 dB. Calculate which branch is output to the detector if the following diversity-combining techniques are used:

(a) Selection.

(b) Feedback. Calculate the value of SNR that is outputted to the detector when the following di-versity combining schemes are used.

(c) Maximum Ratio.

(d) Equal Gain.
