Calculate the value of the test statistic

According to the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, South Koreans spend more hours per year on the job than people in any other developed country (The Wall Street Journal, March 1, 2010). Suppose 10 workers in South Korea and 10 workers in the United States are asked to report the number of hours worked in the last year. The results are shown in the accompanying table and also appear on the text website, labeled South Koreans.
