Problem

Consider an ideal steam regenerative cycle in which steam enters the turbine at 600 lbf/ in.2, 700 F and exhausts to the condenser at 2.225 lbf/ in.2. Steam is extracted from the turbine at 150 lbf/ in.2 for an open FWH. The feed water leaves the heater as saturated liquid. The appropriate pumps are used for the water leaving the condenser and the FWH. Calculate the thermal efficiency of the cycle and the network per pound-mass of steam.
