1. Repeat the computations of the example for the case of a layered soil, with C10 = 20 in the top 10 meter, and C10 = 80 in the lower 10 meter. On the average that is 50, just as in the example, but the settlement will appear to be different. Do you expect the settlement to be more than 0.10 m or less?
2. Calculate the settlement of a point on the boundary of the reservoir. Use Newmark's method to determine the stresses at the various depths.
