Steam enters a turbine at 8 MPa, 450oC at a rate of 15 kg/s and a velocity of 100 m/s; it leaves as saturated vapor at 100 kPa and 25 m/s. Power is produced at a rate of 2 MW. (a) Calculate the rate at which heat is transferred to/from the environment, the rate at which exergy is destroyed, and the reversible power. (b) If the surroundings are at 101 kPa and 30oC, calculate the rate of entropy generation. Is this process possible?
