Calculate the range of the data in module assignment five

After reviewing all the information collected so far, the Bank Manager decided to collect some data on how long it took a Bank Teller to process a customer transaction. The following data was collected at random on the number of minutes it took different Bank Tellers to process different customer transactions.

5          7          3          12        6          13        8          6          4          7

8          10        11        7          8          12        8          9          7          6

11        13        10        9          5          6          4          7          9          6

3          8          5          9          10        8          7          10        8          11

9          7          8          5          4          9          8          12        10        9

6          8          9          10        8          7          11        8          10        8

Mean = 482 / 60 = 8.0333333 = 8.03 (rounded to 2 decimal places)

Part One: Calculate the Range of the data in Module Assignment Five.

You must show how you calculated the Range.

Range = Highest number – Lowest number

Range =

Part Two: Calculate the Sample Standard Deviation of the data in Module Assignment Five.

If you wish you may use the equations shown in the Lecture for Module Seven or you may use your calculator to compute the sample standard deviation, or you may use Microsoft Excel to compute the sample standard deviation. After you have computed the sample standard deviation show the answer below. You do not need to show your calculations on how you arrived at your answer.

However, you must show your answer rounded to three decimal places.

Sample Standard Deviation =

Part Three: Calculate the Traditional Six Sigma boundaries for this process using the Mean from Module Six and the Sample Standard Deviation calculated above.

You must show how you calculated your answers.

You must show your answers to three decimal places.

Upper Boundary = Mean + 3 (Sample Standard Deviations)

Upper Boundary =

Lower Boundary = Mean – 3 (Sample Standard Deviations)

Lower Boundary =

Part Four: In your own words, clearly and completely explain what the above variability data is currently revealing to the Bank Manager.
