This week you've learned what can be behind incompetent leadership and about the Dr. Gordy Test. Now it's time for you to evaluate your own experience as a follower in order to identify, using material from the book, why some were good leaders and some were not.
This forum assignment calls for you to:
1] MAKE A LIST of how many leaders you have worked, played or performed for in the past. This list should include anyone and everyone for which you were in a followership role. While you don't need to share your list, total the number of names on the list and share it.
2] TALLY how many of the leaders on your list you would WILLINGLY work, play or perform for again and share this number. Take your time carefully evaluating your experience as a follower using concepts from the text with EACH leader on your list.
3] CALCULATE the percentage of effective leaders [divide the number you would follow again by the total number]. Share the percentage you would follow again. Go on to identify the worst and best on the list and explain, using terms from the text ,what they did or did not do that made them effective or ineffective leaders in your opinion.
4] IDENTIFY what impact those leaders [both the outstanding and the horrible] had on you as a follower?
5] DESCRIBE how those experiences have influenced your own leadership style as it is today?
