Question: A turntable (disc) of mass = 3 kg , radius = 1.2 m and moment of inertia = 2.16 kgm^2 is spinning about its center at the rate of 7 rad/s. A lump of mass 1.0 kg falls on it and sticks to the surface at a distance 0.7 m from the center. a) calculate the new angular speed of the disc b) if the lump gets unstuck and rolls of the disc.what will now be the angular speed of the disc ?
