Problem

i. In an operation at a bank, six customer service employees can finish 900 transactions per five days. Calculate the labor productivity of this operation per day.

ii. In a factory that assembles chairs, five workers can produce 500 chairs in a week. Of that batch assume 100 chairs are defect which the store sells in its factory outlet at $40 each, the other 400 chairs are sold in its retail shops at $60 each. Labor cost of producing that patch is $1000 per worker, material cost is $20 per chair and overhead expenses are $1000. Calculate the multifactor productivity for this operation.

iii. Can a factory be fast, dependable, flexible, produce high-quality products, and still provide poor service from a customer's perspective?
