Calculate the maximum power that can be transmitted


A spur gear set has a pair of 32-tooth milled steel gears. The gears are 20° full-depth teeth with a module of 4 mm, a face width of 35 mm and operate at 2800 rpm.

Using the method of AGMA, calculate the maximum power that can be transmitted based upon the allowable bending fatigue strength, SF = 525 MPa using design factor of 2. Assume an overload factor of 1.5, load distribution factor of 1.3 and a size factor of 1.15.
