Calculate the force on the driver

1) When a rock falls from rest on the planet Foosbane, it falls 1.44 m in 3.09 seconds. Calculate the weight of a 0.5 kg rock on Foosbane.

2) A car has mass M = 1200 kg, and the driver has mass m = 70 kg. The car is initally traveling at 15 m/s. Then the driver steps on the brakes, and the car stops in 4 seconds. Calculate the force on the driver.

3) A hanging mass, M1 = 0.429 kg, is attached by a light string that runs over a frictionless pulley to a mass M2 = 1.49 kg that is initially at rest on a frictionless ramp. The ramp is at an angle of θ = 30.1° above the horizontal, and the pulley is at the top of the ramp. Find the magnitude and direction of the acceleration, a2, of M2. Take a positive result to be "up the ramp" and a negative result to be "down the ramp".
