Calculate the energy conversion efficiency of the cycle


A gas turbine has a three-stage compression with inter-cooling and a three-stage expansion with re-heating. Air enters the compressors at 300Kand100kPa. In the cycle the maximum temperature is 900K and the ratio of maximum pressure to minimum pressure is 8. The pressure ratio of stages of compressor and turbine are equal. Calculate the energy conversion efficiency of the cycle. Assume air to be an ideal gas with variable specific heats.
