Calculate the derivatives of the functions

Discuss the following:

Q: Use the definition of the derivative to find the derivatives of the following functions:

(a) f(x) = 4

(b) Think through the steps needed to do this problem. Would the answer be the same for f(x)=5? f(x)=c for any constant c? Why or why not?

(c) Think through the steps needed to do this problem. Can you write down the steps to prove that if g(x)=c*f(x) that g'(x)=c*f'(x)?

(d) Use the definition of the derivative to write out the derivative of h(x) where h(x)=f(x) + g(x). Can you rearrange the terms to write this in terms of the derivative of f(x) and g(x)?
