Calculate the average dry and web bulb temperatures and

Objectives:

- To demonstrate the interrelationships between the dry and web bulb temperatures and relativehumidity through the Psychometric chart.
- Comment on the different in results obtain from thermometers and multimeter
- Explore when/where the potential of condensation would happen.

Equipment
- Sling Psychrometer
- Multi meter

Introduction

Human thermal comfort is defined as the state of mind that expresses satisfaction with the surrounding environment. Maintaining thermal comfort for occupants of buildings or other enclosures is one of the important goals of HVAC design engineers.

One of the two main factors which affect the comfort of the occupants of a room is the environmental factor. It includes Temperature, Relative humidity, Air speed, Lighting, and Sound / acoustic.

1) Calculate the average dry and web bulb temperatures.

2) Find the relative humidity using the Psychometric chart and submit with your assignment

3) Compare your values with the CIBSE recommendation. Does the room meet the recommendedcriterion? If not, suggest remedial action.

4) Compare the Temperature and Relative Humidity readings fromMultimeter and comment on the results.

5) By using the chart, explore when/where the potential of condensation would take place.
