Diamonds have successfully been prepared by submitting graphite tohigh pressure. Calculate the approximate minimum pressure needed using ΔfG=0 for graphite andΔfG=2.90 x 103 J/mol for diamond. The densities of the two forms may be taken as independent of pressure and are 2.25 and 3.51g/cm3, respectively.
