Calculate heat transferred to referigerant during process


A spherical balloon initially at 150 mm in diameter and containing R-22 at 150 kPa is connected to a 30 L insulated rigid tank containing R-22 at 500 kPa. Both tanks are at an ambient temperature of 20°C. The valve connecting the two tanks is opened slightly and remains open until all of the R-22 remains at 20°C. It can be also assumed that in this range of variables, the pressure inside the balloon is proportional to the diameter at any time.

Calculate:

a. The final pressure in [kPa]
b. Work done by the R-22 during the process in [kJ]
c. Heat transferred to the R-22 during the process in [kJ]
