Calculate final pressure and heat transferred in process


A rigid tank is divided into two parts, each containing air, by a membrane. Part A is at p = 100 KPa, v = 1 M^3/kg, V = 1m^3, and part B contains 3.5 kg at .5 MPa, 400degC. The membreane then ruptures and heat transfer takes place with the surrounding until the air comes to a uniform state at 50degC. Calculate:

A) the final pressure

B) the heat transferred in the process.
