Using the company you identified in Implementation Description, Develop Organization Model of Positions, Functions, and Roles, and Capturing the Current State, postulate an appropriate target state of your organization’s Enterprise Architecture in a diagram.
The diagram should build off your organizational diagram created in Implementation Description and Capturing the Current State, but focus exclusively on departments and functions rather than personalities and roles (as depicted in Develop Organization Model of Positions, Functions, and Roles).
The target state diagram should reflect a mix of your experiences with your current real organization, your understanding of legacy systems prevalent in the real world and your understanding of existing systems in general. The target state should also illustrate the capabilities required by the organization to meet current competencies and future needs, including anticipated infrastructure to support new initiatives and markets. The end result will be a picture of your organization’s evolved state based on your vision of what the information system infrastructure will need to become: true, robust EISA.
