Analyze the impact of International Trade & Intellectual Property Law on business and commercial organizations in the UAE.
Intellectual Property Project
This project aims to provide students with practical experience of the Intellectual Property Law in the UAE. From the shopping malls, markets, industries in the UAE or from your own home you are to find an example where you believe there is an infringement of trademark law.
You are then to submit a written report (HCT style) which contains the following sections:
Section One:
Product Profiles for both the original product with a valid trade mark and a product with an illegal mark.
This section should contain information about the "real" product and the "fake" product. For each of the two products, please include:
i. Product Name
ii. Picture
iii. Where did you see it or bought it from
iv. Price information
v. Manufacturer name and its country
Section Two:
In your own words, explain the meaning of the following articles of the Trade Mark Law:
i. Article 2
ii. Article 3
iii. Article 5
iv. Article 6
SectionThree:
Explain in your own words how a person may break the trade mark rights of a registered trade mark owner under Articles 37 and 38.
SectionFour:
Explain in your own words the meaning and effect of Article 40. (N.B. - the similarity to Article 282 of the Civil Code)
