2. An online auction site for high-end consumer items, such as designer purses and accessories, designer clothing, designer home decorations, etc.
3. A chain of five locally operated shops (ex. Restaurants, hotels, retail, auto repair shops, etc.)
4. A home security company helping homeowners in the Bay Area to secure their homes with alarm and video monitoring systems
5. Suggest your own!
Information Technology Requirements
Not all businesses need a full array of information technologies to run their business. However, most businesses use information systems in various areas regardless of their size.
Describe the information technology needs including costs of each category in your company.
Address the following needs:
1. Hardware Requirements
2. Databases
3. Cloud Services
4. CRMs and/or ERPs
5. Social Media
6. Applications (operating systems, software applications, SaaS, etc.)
7. Budget
The Business Process
Explain the business processes that your company will use. Illustrate your business process in a flow chart or table and explain relationships of each step.
Outsourcing
Which IS tasks, if any, will you outsource and which ones will you manage in-house and why? Include any activities such as software/app development, IT networks, etc.
Security
What security issues will you be faced with and how will you address these?
Additional Technologies
What other information technologies covered in this course can your organization use to create a competitive edge?
Additional Topics
Ethics/Policies/etc.
Address any ethical issues that your company may have, how information technology may cause them, and how you will address them.
Most Important Factor
Your paper must follow APA or MLA formatting, be at least four and no more than six pages long not including references, page headings or titles. You must have at least six sources for your paper. Sources could be the companies where you are purchasing products/services from, articles related to recent industry news, scholastic publications, or any other reputable sources. Remember, Wikis are not allowed.
