Build human and social capital

KPMG Invests in Human and Social Capital KPMG, one of the big four accounting firms, is changing the scope of its managerial development program to include a broader set of interpersonal skills beyond just technical accounting skills. KPMG wants its employees to have broader professional skills, including how to work with teams and how to handle difficult conversations with clients. The firm also wants employees to always maintain their "moral compass" because they will be dealing with difficult choices all the time. As such, the firm has changed its training program to include business ethics, diversity and inclusion training components. KPMG hopes that the new focus of the training program will draw more applicants to the firm and retain employees who are interested in the career development opportunities they will receive from the firm.
