Task 2 - Report and Documentation

Assessment Description and Requirements

In the Certificate IV in International Trade course, you have been looking at the processes and procedures for importing and exporting goods. In this assignment, in a small group, you will prepare all of the business documents to export a product.

Procedure

1. Identify goods to be transported internationally

In your small groups, you will prepare all of the business documents to export a product. Your trainer will act as your supervisor. In your group, discuss options for arranging international transport of goods. Record your group's recommendations in a report.

2. Determine method of transport

Analyse and determine the best method of transport for your goods. You should research online to see if this specific option is available for your chosen product. Document the suitability and availabilityof the transport option your group recommends. Include your transport recommendations, suitability reasons and availability in your report. Check with your Trainer to ensure the chosen transport is suitable.

3. Determine packaging and stowage requirements

Analyse and determine the best options and requirements for packaging and stowage of your product. Research and document / record the suitability and availabilityof the packaging and stowage option your group recommends. Include your packaging and stowage recommendations, suitability reasons and availability in your report. Check with your Trainer to ensure the chosen packaging and stowage is suitable.

4. Contribute to cost calculations

Analyse and determine thecosts for international transportation of goods. You may seek assistance from your Trainer, who will act as your supervisor, as required to help calculate costs. Research online to determine the costs of transportation and provide a breakdown of the costs in your report. Record all costs for international transportation of goods. Check cost calculation for accuracy and completeness prior to checking with your Trainer. Finalise any revisions to calculations and ensure they are rechecked by your group and your Trainer. Provide all working and final calculations in your report.

5. Complete required documentation

Complete and collate the required documentation. (The relevant forms will be provided by your trainer.) Seek assistance as required in completing and checking documentation. Prior to submitting your final report, re-check required documents.

6. Submit required documentation

Finalise and submit all documents you have prepared for the transportation of your product internationally. Submit all research and calculations as part of your report.
