Read Chapter 6 of the text, The Call to Holiness.
Respond to the following questions by posting your answers in the discussion.
I. Dr. Tennent states in the text, "To effectively serve Christ in the world, we must not merely be called holy; we must actually be holy" (p.43). What do you think about this statement? Why is holiness so important for us and our ability to serve God and help others?
II. Briefly summarize the five roles and purposes of the Holy Spirit described in the chapter.
III. Which of these purposes are you least familiar with within your experience? How can you open yourself up to more to God to allow Him to reveal more of the Holy Spirit to you in this realm?
IV. Describe how you see the role of the Holy Spirit in your life as a social worker? What might this entail? Be specific and reflect on how it might affect one or more of the following: your decision-making, diagnostic approach, choices of intervention, relationship with clients, policy-making decisions, leadership, etc.
