Discussion:
Write a one-two page reflection - minimum 250 words (usually more is necessary).
Compare the plight of the people who live in Plato's cave with the uneducated people of our world. You may use any type of education that you think the uneducated people of our world are missing out on and how it might help them change their beliefs about certain things. Keep in mind that the people in Plato's cave were chained there - against their will - does this have a parallel with today's uneducated population? Should people outside the cave have made a greater effort to go inside the cave to enlighten their fellow humans? If so, how?

1. Briefly summarize Aristotle's and Plato's beliefs about the soul.
2. Survey five people on what they believe the nature of the human soul is (using the guidelines from the next item).
o Try to ask five people who you perceive as different in some respects from the other people you question.
o Differences can be religious, philosophical, career, gender, age-related, culture, etc.
3. Summarize their responses and compare this with your own beliefs on the nature of the soul.
