Briefly explain the side effects and contraindications of diphenhydramine due to it crossing into the brain and acting on the histamine 1 receptors. Briefly explain that diphenhydramine has cross over effects, blocking acetylcholine receptors and the results of that action in both the periphery and the brain. Briefly explain that because diphenhydramine crosses into the blood brain barrier, it can be indicated for certain conditions but that this client not affected by those conditions
