1. Briefly describe the pattern of urban growth in the United States from its inception. What are three factors that have contributed to increasing urbanization? How? Which, in your opinion, has been the most influential?
2. Choose a world megacity. Describe three current urban problems the megacity is encountering. What historical and/or current factors are contributing to these problems? Describe a program and/or policy solution it is implementing to tackle one of these problems.
3. Assess the Political Economy Theory- does it, in your opinion, explain the current state of the world's cities? Why or why not? Use an example to support your response.
4. Building on your experience with the media assignments, explain, in your opinion, how the media plays a role in portraying urban issues and communities. What impact does this have on urban policy design and implementation?
5. Describe three policy solutions the United States has or is implementing to improve access to housing. Which, in your opinion, is the most effective policy solution? Why has it been the most effective?
