Briefly describe the first five points of the project scope

Task: Project management and how to write a proposal

1. Introduction

In this project our aim is enlarging and repairing a daycare center where children are cared for in a group away from their homes for all or part of the day. We need to determine funding sources and possible financial outcomes.  We should also be careful about fitting the standards of City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Bureau of Day Care while making those changes.

2. Project Summary

Let’s determine our risk factors and main people and departments involved in this project.

Risk factors:

1. Financial
2. Complying with the laws
3. Parent’s approval and trust for relocation and temporary residence
4. Hiring new staff

People and departments involved

1. Children
2. Staff
3. Parents
4. Health Departments
5. Contractors and builders

First of all we need to find a temporary residence too keep the children during the repair and enlargement processes. We should determine our quality and safety standards for the project. Then we should contact with various construction and interior design firms, furniture sellers and learn their bids on taking different parts of the project. We must determine the economic options that comply our quality standards and choose the most feasible   alternatives. We need to determine our funding sources such as getting loans or selling unnecessary equipment etc..

After completing these steps we need to ask ourselves a number of questions to appraise the new situation.

• Is there enough space that stops overcrowding?
• Do we comply with safety regulations and standards?
• Is the center bright and cheerful?
• Are the toys and materials easy to see and reach?
• Can we be able to hire new staff to give the children the attention they need in this larger space?

After answering these questions the number of “yes” will determine the success of our project. If we can’t achieve most of our objectives then we will have to turn back to the beginning and fix the   problem. If we are successful then we can go on and try to accomplish other objectives.
