Both singer and regan make cases in support of animal

Both Singer and Regan make cases in support of animal rights. Singer says that because animals experience pleasure and pain, they deserve moral respect. Regan makes a similar argument saying that all experience subjects deserve Kantian respect. What do you think about these arguments?

Singer links speciesism to racism and sexism. He argues that the same considerations (experience of pain) make these morally indefensible. Do you find this argument compelling? Why? If not, what are its weaknesses?

Please respond if read the about chapter in Intro to Ethics chapters 14 and 15.
