Read the scenario below and in your own words briefly explain each of the seven dimensions using examples from the scenario. Then, using one of the models that explains addiction etiology, (e.g. personal responsibility model, agent model) explain how the addiction developed.

Scenario: Bob

Bob is a 22-year-old male who has been referred to addiction treatment by the court. He was arrested for his third Driving Under the Influence offense and for possession of heroin. He refused to take the breathalyzer test or random drug test while in jail. He insists that this is all a big mistake and that he has never taken drugs before. He says that he was set up for the arrest by an officer who sat outside a nightclub waiting for him.

Bob reported that he drinks most days, but not more than 4 or 5 beers with his friends. He stated that he only used heroin once, but then changed his response to "a few times". He said that he had not drunk in the past few days, but that was because he was feeling ill. When asked if he would be able to maintain his sobriety, he reported that he did not need to do so and that he spent most nights in the bars with his friends. He has lost three jobs in the past four months due to oversleeping and not being able to pay attention on the job. Last week, he was taken to the emergency room due to sharp pains in his stomach. He was diagnosed with the beginning of Alcohol Related Liver Disease (ARLD).
