i) Assume that you have a block resting on the horizontal smooth surface. The block (having a mass of 'm') is joined to a horizontal spring (spring constant 'k' (N/m)), that is fixed at one end. The spring can be compressed and stretched. The mass is pulled to one side and then free. Determine the formula needed to compute the period of the oscillation of the mass? When m = 100 g, and k = 150 N/m, determine the period and frequency of the oscillation?

ii) When the block of mass 'm' were substituted with a block 4 times more massive, by what factor would the period transform? Would the period be shorter or longer?
