Black death swept through europe

Subject: Humanity

Paper Instructions and Topic:

In Europe in the Middle Ages, a great plague called the Black Death swept through Europe. This disease may have killed almost one-half of the population. For the journal article, I’d like you to read  the section entitled, “Literature After the Black Death” on pages 449-453 (down to the heading “Petrarch’s Sonnets”).

Please discuss the black death; however, note that your textbook is outdated concerning the cause of the plague. Many scientists no longer believe that the disease was carried by rats but was, rather, air borne. Read the selections from Boccaccio’s Decameron and explain how the Black Death affected this piece of literature. I’d also like you to consider how you think our civilization might react if such a disease swept through our country today.

The article should be about 900 words, typed in Times New Roman, spaced at 1.5 and be free from spelling and grammar errors.
