We have recently acquired the online widget retailer Widgets - R - Us. We believe that the addition of a retail component to our already successful manufacturing company is a positive move and puts us into the position to become the world's leading widget supplier, especially considering the recent bankruptcy of We Sell U Widgets. Unfortunately, neither company (Widgets R Us or Widgets USA) is in a technological position to tackle the type of expansion we are considering. Therefore, we are enlisting your help and advice to put us into a position to move forward. Our first task is to explain to the investors how we plan to integrate the two companies' networks and why this is important.
Please begin by reading and familiarizing yourself with both companies. I have attached a brief synopsis for your review. I have also found several articles that I feel will help you impress upon the investors the importance of having an integrated network. You can use all of them or none, but it is very important that you support all ideas with research to demonstrate the viability of our ideas.
Please keep in mind that many of our investors do not come from a technological background and may not be familiar with concepts that you may find obvious. Additionally, it is important that you write your report in APA format as it will be included as a part of the IPO next month.
Please address the following topics:
• The current infrastructure of both companies
• The types of networks (Internet, intranet, extranet)
• Identify and describe at least five types of business software that will assist WINC in becoming a global competitor. Examples include but are not limited to, SCM, KMS, CRM, ERP, PLM, BI, EMM, KM, HRMS, and HCM
• The benefits the company will realize as a result of a unified network.
