Design of GSM Cellular Mobile Radio Base Station Network
Purpose
Telecommunication Modelling and Simulation, for the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Telecommunication).
Objectives
The objective of this design project is to familiarize the student with the entire process of planning and design of cellular mobile telecommunication networks. The cellular technology under consideration is the GSM, which is a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) technology. Considerations will be given to both the technical and economic aspects of the project. The student will use the CelPlanner software tool to plan and design cellular network for coverage of a defined geographic area. The design will be aimed to satisfy certain quality of service and economical requirements.
