Assignment: Simpsons Religious Studies Paper
Based on the Pinsky text, our class discussions, Simpson episodes, and your own research, please write a paper about Religious Studies and the Simpsons. You can take this paper in any direction you want. It does not necessarily have to reference the Simpson either. It can be a research paper on one of the ideas brought up by the show or Pinsky's analysis of it.
Some ideas are:

• The role that preachers, pastors, and priests play in public life
• Heaven and Hell
• Fundamentalism and the Bible
• Different denominations interpretations of the Bible

• God's Sense of Humor
• Creationism vs Evolution
• The Sacred and the Profane
• Creation Mythology
Please write using MLA conventions. It should be 3-4 pages long, plus a Works Cited list of a minimum of three scholarly sources (of course our textbook could be one). Please upload your draft to Isidore and hand in a hardcopy for assessment purposes. Like all papers in this class, you will have a chance to revise it if you are not happy with your grade.
