Assignment: STAR Report Analysis
Basically, this is an assignment to translate numbers in the STAR report to a story in your report that everybody who reads can understand.
1. Based on the data in the STAR report, write an overview of hotel performance for the week of July 24 - July 30, 2011, as compared to the same period 2010. Use key performance indicators (KPIs) and percentage changes to support the assessment you make. Also, compare performance of running 28 days by day of week.
2. Based on the data in the STAR report, write an overview of RevPar performance for the month of July, 2011, as compared to comp set and tract scale. Use RevPar numbers, RevPar percentage changes, RevPar index, Index percentage changes and rank to support the assessment you make.
3. Based on the above assessments, what are the areas that need further improvements? Identify at least three areas.
