Background: The area of sustainability is producing a variety of exciting and innovative solutions towards green production. This supplement provides students with a snapshot of some of the important topics in sustainability and unique solutions that companies implement. An important theme is that managers need to be thinking about sustainability issues through the whole supply chain process—from product design to what happens at end of life, and from the top of the supply chain through to the final customers.
