A 230V DC shunt motor has an armature resistance of 0.05 ohms. When connected to a 230V direct current supply it develops a back emf of 225V at 1200rpm.
a) Calculate the armature current

c) The motor is now used as a generator. Calculate the speed of the machine if the armature current is 80A and there is a 230V at the motor's terminals. Assume a constant flux.
