Discuss as part of the Authentic Leader Interview Assignment, which is based on this workshop's required reading in Harvard Business Review: Discovering Your Authentic Leadership. Interview three (3) leaders, with at least one of those leaders being from an organization or institution other than the student's own workplace. The questions for the leader interview have been adopted from the HBR article and include the following:
1) Which people and experiences in your early life had the greatest impact on you?
2) What tools do you use to become self-aware?
3) How would you describe your authentic self?
4) What are your most deeply held values? How do your values inform your actions, possibly providing an example?
5) What motivates you extrinsically and intrinsically? How do you balance extrinsic and intrinsic motivation in your life?
6) What kind of support team do you have?
7) What does being authentic mean in your life? Have you ever paid a price for your authenticity as a leader?
8) What steps have you taken to develop your authentic leadership? (George et al., 2007, p. 134)
