Topic: War for Independence:

Description:

The information for this essay is from the chapter of the same book that I use for this class that you have previously used for my other essays you have written. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE A HEADER ON THIS PAPER.

Your essay this week will be based on critical thinking skills—there is no one right answer—it is your opinion. After reading chapter 6 ponder these questions regarding the social conditions and atmosphere in the colonies before and after the War for Independence.

After giving careful thought summarize what you believe was the attitude of most colonists toward the war, why would a small group of loosely joined colonies think the could beat mighty Great Britain, after they did indeed win the war what course of action would they want the new nation to follow, and why in less than five years would they throw out the original governing document (Articles of Confederation) for a new governing document (US Constitution)?

1) What was the attitude of most colonial Americans as war approached?

2) What impact would the French aiding the colonies have on the thinking of the colonists?

3) Following the Revolution what would be the main goals of most Americans in the new US of A?

4) Why was the US Constitution such a superior document over the Article of Confederation?

Do not just answer the questions–create a well organized paragraph that addresses the questions.
