Problem: 100 word response to the following post: Attachment issues stemming from childhood abuse and neglect can create barriers in a person's spiritual or religious beliefs, especially when it comes to forming a bond with a higher power. There are 3 forms of attachment to a higher power or God: secure, avoidant and anxious. Secure attachment allows a person to perceive their God as responsive and warm, avoidant attachment can look like a God that is impersonal and unresponsive, while anxious attachment showcases a God that is inconsistently responsive (Shoshan et al., 2024). Those that have a secure attachment to God have been found to have higher self-esteem, better mental health, lower levels of anxiety and depression, as well as lower levels of psychological distress and loneliness (Shoshan et al., 2024). On the other hand, those with anxious attachment to God have been found to have lower levels of self-acceptance, positive relationships and higher levels of depression and death anxiety (Shoshan et al., 2024). While avoidant attachment to God has been correlated to lower levels of empathetic coping and higher rates of depression (Shoshan et al., 2024). Need Assignment Help?
