Homework: Project Management Methodologies
Give a brief overview of the organization. If it is the same organization from last week's homework, share additional information or insight on the company...do not copy the same material.
Part A:
Consider some recent projects that were successes. Choose at least one success and answer the following questions:
I. Describe the project and why it was a success.
II. In your opinion, what made it a success?
III. Was the success announced to others? If so, how? If not, why not?
IV. Were there any lessons learned from the success?
V. What do you think were the major factors that contributed to the project's success?
Part B:
Consider some recent projects that were failures. Choose at least one failure and answer the following questions:
I. Describe the project and why it was a failure.
II. Was there an effort to learn from the failure?
III. Did anything change in the business/organization as a result of the failure?
IV. At what point did people know the project was a failure?
V. How was the failure announced?
VI. What was the reaction among team members or people in the organization/business?
VII. Was there a commonality between the failed project and other similar failures in the company? If so, what do you see as that commonality?
VIII. What major issues contributed to the failure?
IX. How long had they remained unresolved?
Part C:
After reviewing the successes and failures, how well do you feel your organization implements projects? Be sure to thoroughly explain your answer.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
