Assume you have been asked to testify at a state legislative committee hearing regarding consideration of a bill to ban all plea-bargaining. The committee wants to hear from you because you are considered the leading expert on the topic. In a written summary of your testimony and be sure to include the following:
- The stakeholders who would be affected by a ban on plea-bargaining and how those stakeholders would be affected by a ban
- Reasons why plea-bargaining should not be banned
- The parts of the criminal justice process (charging, trial, sentencing, appeal) that would be affected by a ban and how those parts would be affected
