Task 1.
For this assignment, you will create a USB recovery drive for your Windows 10 test system that you have been using for the class. This is the VM installation that you previously installed on your personal systems.
To accomplish this task, you will need to research on the Internet on how to create a USB recovery disk for the Windows 10 Operating System.
I will provide you with a 16 GB USB flash drive that you will use as the recovery device.
You will return this USB device to me, so I can check the results and issue you proper credit for the homework.
Task 2.
In addition to this task, complete the following questions and submit to Blackboard by the due date.
1. Identify the website where you got your instructions from.
Do some additional research on how to test your recovery disk. (Caution, do not attempt to recover your system with your newly created USB device since this may cause you to lose any data you may have on the system).
2. Is it possible to test a system recovery device? Explain your answer.
3. Under what conditions would it be necessary or advisable to use a system recovery USB? Elaborate on your response.
4. What are some possible issues that need to be considered when attempting a system recovery? Explain your answer.
5. Can the USB recovery device be used to recovery any Windows 10 system? Explain why or why not.
6. Will you be required to register a system that was recovered with a USB recovery device? Explain.
7. Suppose you have a Windows 10 system in which you have two partitions. The first partition, designated as C:\ , is your system partition where you store the operating system files. The second partition, D:\ , is where you store all your data files. Now consider an unfortunate event occurs, resulting in a complete system corruption, where you are forced to restore the operating system. Under these conditions, will you lose any of your data files during the system recovery? Explain.
